Izova The Khemist – THE FIXTAPE (2011)

Clearly one of the hottest mixtapes I’ve heard this year and I’ve heard quite a few indie mixtapes so far in 2012. Izova took track beats from mainstream hip hop artist and gave his own twist to them and completely murdered them. With tacks like “Lets Have A Toast” produced by Dj Wes which is actually the opening song, sets the mood for the entire mixtape and presents the warm feeling of a sunny Saturday morning in California. The tracks “On a daily”, “Money Shit” and “Summer in Cali” are other tracks that I could keep on repeat but its 3 main tracks that got this to become my favorite mitxtape and that’s “Fuck em all”, “Run Away” done in his own rendition to Kanye West’s ground breaking track and “This Race” produced by Dominic Williams and is more of a fast pace track, these tracks give you a very crystal clear view into the things that surround Izova’s thoughts whether it be his own personal struggles or issues that most people are just too scared to talk about. This entire mixtape is a must listen to! #FIX
